Thornton Pre-School Playgroup was established in 1966 and provides sessional care from 9.00am until 11.45am & 12.45pm until 3.30pm for children aged 2yrs to 4yrs 11 months. Although the Pre-School is based within Baines Endowed School, it is an independent business and there is no right to a place in Baines Endowed due to a child having attended Thornton Pre-School.
The Pre-School has a maximum of 26 children per session and a total of 10 sessions per week. Adult / child ratio is 1:4 and parent helpers are welcome.The Pre-School covers the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which covers all children from birth to the end of their 5th year. In the term after their 3rd birthday all children are entitled to five, two and a half hour sessions free on the Nursery Education Grant.
All staff at Thorton Pre-School have a diverse range of childcare qualifications, plus many years of experience. A waiting list is in place for 2009/10 & beyond but if you would like to arrange a visit please ring 07792784687.
