Primary School Admissions

Selecting the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions a parent will make and never an easy one. At Baines we wish to do all we can to support the process of choosing the right school - so if you have a child approaching school age please contact the school office on 01253 823420 to register your childs' name, in order for you to receive the information pack and application details, when submitted from Lancashire County Council.

As a school we follow the local authority admission policy which can be viewed along with other relevant information such as how to apply for a Primary School place on the Lancashire County Council Website by clicking HERE.

In general, children are not required to start school until the term following their fifth birthday. In Lancashire, however, all children who have their fifth birthday between 1 September 2013 and 31 August 2014 may start school in September 2013 if their parents / carers wish it.

To make the process of applying for a place as easy as possible, parents are encouraged to apply Online. For more information about the school, we will be having an Open afternooon on Wednesday 3rd October 2012 at 1.15 pm and also an Open Evening on the same day at 6 pm.
